Volunteer Registration – You must register with the county each year to Volunteer at the school or on field trips.  Sign up on the computer in the Front Office.  Approval takes a while.

 

Visiting the School – Currently there are no visitors to school.  Once that resumes, you will need a photo ID to sign in on the Front Office computer, unless the visit is for a class or schoolwide event.

 

Signing your child out of school – Scan the QR code on the front door and fill out a google doc.

Find your child’s class website – www.wcpss.net/olivechapeles  Under Our School>Faculty Directory.  Most teachers post daily and specials schedules on their website.

 

School Clubs – The teacher will email information or see www.wcpss.net/olivechapeles Under Students Section.  Most clubs are divided by grade levels K-2 or 3-5, though some are open to all grade levels combined.

Spirit Wear – If you would like to purchase spirit wear mid-year, please email oce.pta@gmail.com about availability.

Room Parents - Most classrooms have a room parent.  Please ask your child's teacher to send your information to the room parent if you would like to receive their updates.

There is also a binder in the front office with a favorites sheet for every staff member at Olive Chapel.  This is great for teacher appreciation week and birthdays.

Join the PTA – Join online through Memberhub/Givebacks.  All memberships will be through this online platform.

Walk to School Wednesday – Walk to School Wednesday is a program committed to making healthy choices.  On the first Wednesday of the month, from October through June, neighborhoods come together to walk to school.  Participating students earn a charm for each walk.  Check the ocepta.com webpage, OCE calendar, or The Beacon for this year’s dates.

OCE earns money when you shop!  The following businesses partner with OCE by giving a percentage of your purchases back to the school.  Please link your accounts to Amazon, Harris Teeter, Kroger, Lowes Foods, Office Max/Office Depot, and Publix.  Some reward partners require you to link the account at the start of each school year. 

 

Box Tops – We’re a Box Tops school and every Box Top you submit earns 10 cents for our school.  Download the app or send them in at any time marked with your child’s teacher’s name.  Rewards are given to the classes that collect the most Box Tops.

 

Spirit Days – The Student Council arranges school dress-up or spirit days some Fridays throughout the year.  Look out for upcoming Spirit Days in The Beacon and on the OCE calendar. www.ocepta.com/spirit-days

 

School Pictures – In a typical year, individual and class pictures are taken.  Fall pictures will be used in the yearbook with no proofs at the time of purchase.  Proofs are sent home for the Spring photos.
